CLEANING FACE: A SKINCARE ROUTINE

A basic chore that we all are taught since childhood is to wash our face every morning. The purpose of this act is to remove all the excess oil, dirt and bacteria from our skin. The question here arises that do we have dirt on our face when we wake up, although we have wash our face in the night? Well the answer is YES. We have dirt and bacteria on our face, the cause of this bacteria is our pillow.

Our pillow might seem clean and tidy to our bare eyes but it contains micro-organisms. These micro-organisms may cause acne and breakout on our skin. Changing pillow cover after a day or two is also one the task that must be performed religiously. When it comes to washing our face at night its kind of mandatory. As our face is exposed to dirt, bacteria and makeup layer is constant on it throughout the day. There are other occasions where washing your face becomes compulsory like right after a workout or walk.

There is no basic guide for washing our face however for people with oily skin it is suggested to wash face more frequently then the ones with dry skin. The face washing steps are simple and well-known. However, it is suggested to follow a simple face washing routine because over washing can cause dryness and less can results in acne or pimples.

“Some people are just too vigorous with washing,” says Dr. Wang. “They think they need that squeaky-clean feeling. Actually, that means you’re drying out your skin. If you’re too aggressive, it can either look drier after washing your face, or some people strip off so much oil that they actually get a rebound effect.”
