HOMEMADE GRANOLA

Whatever you eat for breakfast greatly impact your whole day activities. Choosing a healthy, wholesome, well-balanced and nutrient rich breakfast is a great way to start the day.

Rushing for work, we often tend to skip breakfast or just consume coffee with some snacks. These go-to options are quite feasible to consume but doesnot provide you with all the essential nutrients.

“Granola” is an easy-to- prepare breakfast food which is combination of rolled oats, nuts and raisins. The home made granola is healthy, free from artificial flavour and is balanced with all the nutritious and healthy ingredients that are consider good for you.

This breakfast food delivers some high quality nutrients. These nutrients include proteins, iron, fiber and heart healthy fats.

WHY GRANOLA?

  • Granola is rich in fiber and helps in digestion and reduces cholestrol levels.
  • The nutritious food is capable of weight reduction.
  • The food is an instant source of energy.
  • The food have tendency to prevent cancer and anemia.

Granola is easy to make food. This breakfast food comprises of simple yet healthy components. The home-made granola is a healthy treat for you.

You will need some dry and liquid ingredients for the preparation of the granola. these ingredients includes:

Dry ingredients:

2 1/2 cups old fashioned rolled oats

1/2 cup nuts, roughly chopped

1/3 cup brown sugar

1/4 teaspoon kosher salt

3/4 cups total extra mix-ins (about 1/4 cup of 3 different ingredients such as walnuts, raisins and almonds etc.)

Liquid ingredients:

1/4 cup of honey

1/4 cup melted unsalted butter

1 teaspoon of vanilla extract

METHOD:

In one bowl add almonds,oats, walnuts, salt and brown sugar. Mix all these ingredients well together. In another bowl make a mixture of butter, honey and vanilla extract. Pour the mixture over the dried ingredients bowl and mix the contents of both the bowl well. Spread the final product over the baking tray and spread it. Pre-heat oven at 300 degree. Now bake it for 30 to 40 minutes and give toss after every 17 minutes for even cooking. Once it come out of the oven, toss cranberries and raisins. Store in an air tight container.
