VEGAN BREAKFAST FOOD

Switching from traditional diet to vegan diet is a major step as it involves lots of patience and adoption of new eating habit. When you switched to vegan diet you had to give up on most of your favorite food, but after some research I was able to find the substitutes of the food product and constructed the recipes accordingly. The breakfast item that I created using vegan diet are:

  • PANCAKES:

Soft and fluffy pancakes are the basic American-style breakfast food. Often made thin and round. There are different types of pancakes available but the basic batter is the same. The starch-based  batter is made from eggs, milk, floor and sugar. The purpose of using eggs in pancake is to provide structure to the pancakes, it tends to bind all the ingredients together as for vegan diet the consumption of eggs are precluded the substitutes can be coconut oil or unsweetened apple sauce, milk can be replaced by any plant milk most of people prefer to use soy milk if you are not happy to use soy milk almond milk can also be used.

  • GRANOLA:

Granola is one of most healthiest breakfast meal. It consists of rolled oats, nuts, honey or any other sweetener like brown sugar. Mix and bake all the ingredients together. Granola is served with some yogurt or milk. In case of yogurt you can use any vegan yogurt although soy yogurts fits the meal perfectly and for milk soy milk or almond milk can be used.

  • SWEET POTATO HASH:

White potato and sweet potato for the same quantity contains the same amount of carbohydrates. The amount of fiber in sweet potato will be more than that of white potato. The lower value of glycemic index in sweet potatoes makes it better breakfast option.
