TREVOR NOAH APOLOGIZES FOR MAKING JOKE ON INDO-PAK WAR

Trevor Noah is the most well-known name when it comes to comedy. He is South African comedian, television host and political commentator.  He is also named as  one of the 100 most influential people in the world by Times Magazine in 2018. The comedian is know was hosting a infamous comedy show name ” The Daily Show”. The Daily Show covers all the biggest events realted to news, culture and politics.

Few days back, when the tension between India and Pakistan arose regarding Pulwama attack. Both the countries were at the verge of starting war. This Indo-Pak war could have been a destructive one as both the countries are nuclear power. The issue was being resolved by the involvement of other countries.

During this time of tension Trevor Noah made a joke regarding Indo-Pak War. The joke was not handled well by the public. They started criticizing him for being careless and making such an inappropiate joke.

After, this incident when his joke faced backlash Trevor apologizes on one of his tweet for calling Indo-Pak War ‘most entertaing’ and ‘longest of all time’.

In a tweet he was critized on making joke:

It’s sad when someone who’s had a violent past mocks war through a Bollywood stereotype. @Trevornoah ‘s mother was shot in the head by her husband(Trevor’s stepfather).Imagine someone making fun of it with a Xhosa stereotype – the tribe his mum belongs to

To which Trevor responded as.

Actually if you watch my stand up you’ll see that I did make jokes after my mother was shot in the head. As a comedian I use comedy to process pain and discomfort in my world but I am sorry that this hurt you and others, that’s not what I was trying to do
