IS LEMON JUICE GOOD FOR YOUR HAIR?

We have seen people who are naturally blessed with long, thick and voluminious hair. On the other hand there are people who have thin, dry and lifeless hair. 1-HAIR LIGHTENING:

Hair lightening is common these days but using excessive chemicals on your hair will damage them. According to some hair specialist lemon works as a great natural lightening product. According to master hair colorist Aura Friedman,

“Lemon juice does lighten hair, but it can also be dangerous,” says Aura. “It’s so acidic it can burn your hair. The best way to use it is by mixing it with conditioner or even with coconut oil, so you get those important hydrating and reparative benefits,” she adds.

Lemons have high levels of vitamin C present in them. Vitamin C have tendency to lighten hair colour when applied on hair follicle. The citric fruit being enriched in vitamin C works as a natural hair lightening  agent.

2-HAIR GROWTH:

Hair loss can be associated with many factors. Out of which two main factors can be poor diet and excessive use of chemicals. Hair growth is possible by using a natural amino acid called collagen. The amino acid is responsible for strengthening and even regrowth of hair. This naturally ocurring amino acid decreases its level of ocurrance in human body by the age of thirty. However, consuming vitamin C in sufficient amount helps to develop collagen in the body. This production of collagen then helps to stimulate hair growth. Lemons are abundant in vitamin C. The citric therefore holds the ability to produce collagen for hair growth.

3-DANDRUFF:

Dandruff is a commonly occurring hair condition. There could be many reasons by which this condition can be triggered which includes dry scalp, irritated and oily skin (eborrheic dermatitis), not shampooing often and sensitivity to hair care product. The acidic nature of lemons balances the pH level of scalp helping in restoring the pH level of your scalp and eliminating the dandruff.

4-HEALTHY SCALP/ SCALP EXFOLIATOR:

Accumulation of oil and dirt on the scalp that is built over a time. This excessive oil can cause dandruff which results in an unhealthy scalp. An unhealthy scalp results in hair loss whereas a healthy scalp promotes hair growth. The purpose of exfoliating scalp is to remove dead cells and promote blood flow.
